Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking an Exercise Specialist to support the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. You will help conduct evaluations, supervise group exercise, and provide education to patients aiming to regain functional abilities and heart-healthy lifestyles.

Working with a registered nurse, you will document patient data, deliver home exercise programs, and ensure safety in exercise sessions. This role requires BLS certification and a Bachelor's degree, with prior rehab experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • One year of Exercise Specialist experience preferred.

Summary

The Exercise Specialist works with the registered nurse to conduct the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Treatment and education is provided in the areas of deficit to assist patients in safely regaining functional abilities and adopting a heart-healthy lifestyle. The Exercise Specialist also conducts/supervises Cardiac and Pulmonary Maintenance Exercise Program classes.

Education

Four years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Bachelors Degree).

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association.

Experience

One year of experience as an Exercise Specialist preferred. Must possess knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
