Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Exercise Physiologist for cardiac rehabilitation across Chicago-area sites, including Highland Park and Evanston. The role involves developing individualized rehab programs and monitoring patients during sessions.

You will lead group sessions, educate patients on exercise and risk factors, and document progress. CPR and ACLS certifications are desired; a BS in related field is required with MS preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an exercise science-related field.
• CPR Certification current.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in cardiac or pulmonary rehab preferred.
• ECG interpretation skills required or highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized exercise programs for cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients.
• Monitor patients during exercise sessions, including vital signs and ECG (EKG).
• Modify exercise plans based on patient response and progress.
• Lead group exercise sessions, including warm-up and cool-down.
• Provide patient education on exercise, risk factors, and lifestyle changes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Support progression toward independent, home-based exercise routines.

Position Highlights

• Position: Exercise Physiologist – Cardiac Rehab
• Location: Rotating - Chicago (Swedish), Evanston & Highland Park
• Hours: 6 am- 7 pm
• Schedule: As needed - PRN
• No weekends or holidays

What You Will Need

• 1+ year of cardiac and/or pulmonary rehabilitation experience highly preferred ECG (EKG) interpretation skills
• Exercise prescription and patient monitoring experience
• Bachelor of Science degree in an exercise science or a related field (e.g. Kinesiology or Physical Education). Emphasis in exercise physiology preferred. MS preferred
• Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (within 6 months of hire)
