Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Exercise Physiologist to support the growth of the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Care team. The role involves hands-on patient care and thorough documentation of care following charting procedures.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, developing individualized treatment plans with staff, applying exercise science to patients with cardiac/pulmonary disease, and monitoring responses during sessions, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness or related field is required.
• Master's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance with concentration in cardiac health is preferred.
• BLS - Basic Life Support Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the program's educational efforts, classes, and/or individual sessions.
• Conducts initial assessment and orientation of new participants.
• Develops and adjusts individualized treatment plans with other staff members.
• Applies knowledge of exercise science to cardiac and pulmonary populations and other comorbidities.
• Performs EKG, oximetry, heart rate and blood pressure measurements during exercise.
• Monitors sessions for appropriate responses and refers as needed.
• Assists in charting and documentation as per procedure.

Responsibilities:

Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Exercise Physiologist

We are seeking a dedicated Exercise Physiologist to continue the growth of our Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Care team at Piedmont Mountainside.

In addition to hands-on patient care, Exercise Physiologists are required to accurately and completely document care by following the charting procedure.

• Participates in the program's educational efforts, classes, and/or individual sessions
• Conducts initial assessment and orientation of new participants
• Assists in the development of individualized treatment plans with other staff members
• Effectively applies knowledge of exercise science to a population with cardiac and pulmonary disease and other potential co-morbidities
• Develops and adjusts individual exercise prescription in accordance with GXT, daily patient response in rehab, and physician recommendations on a regular basis (with assistance of Nurses and Respiratory Therapists)
• Supervises exercise session, monitoring participants for inappropriate responses to exercise
• Responsible for EKG, oximetry, heart rate, and blood pressure measurement
• Assesses participants pre, during, and post exercise, making appropriate referrals, and/or recommendations to the participant, other staff, and Medical Director

• Master's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness with concentration in cardiac health Preferred
