Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital is seeking a dedicated Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Exercise Physiologist to join the team. You will provide hands-on patient care and thorough documentation in the rehab program, contributing to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to cardiac and pulmonary health.

Responsibilities include assessments, individualized therapy planning, education, and monitoring vital signs during exercise sessions, with collaboration from Nurses and Respiratory Therapists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required (Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness or related field)
• Master's degree preferred with concentration in cardiac health
• No experience required
• BLS Certification Required

Responsibilities

• Participates in program's educational efforts, classes, and/or individual sessions
• Conducts initial assessment and orientation of new participants
• Assists in developing individualized treatment plans with other staff
• Applies exercise science knowledge to cardiac and pulmonary rehab populations
• Develops/adjusts exercise prescriptions with reference to GXT and physician recommendations
• Supervises sessions and monitors participant responses
• Measures EKG, oximetry, heart rate, and blood pressure
• Assesses participants pre, during, and post exercise and makes referrals as needed

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology/Adult Health & Fitness

Master's degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology/Adult Health & Fitness with concentration in cardiac health

BLS - Basic Life Support Certification
