Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital is seeking a Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Exercise Physiologist to strengthen our rehab care team. You will deliver hands-on patient care, document care comprehensively, and participate in program education and orientation sessions.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, developing individualized treatment plans with the team, applying exercise science to patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions, and monitoring responses during sessions in collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support certification required.

• Measures EKG, oximetry, heart rate, and blood pressure; documents findings.
• Makes referrals/recommendations to participants and Medical Director.

Education

Responsibilities

Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Exercise Physiologist

We are seeking a dedicated Exercise Physiologistto continue the growth of our Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Care team at Piedmont Mountainside.

In addition to hands-on patient care, Exercise Physiologists are required to accurately and completely document care by following the charting procedure.

• Participates in the program's educational efforts, classes, and/or individual sessions
• Conducts initial assessment and orientation of new participants
• Assists in the development of individualized treatment plans with other staff members
• Effectively applies knowledge of exercise science to a population with cardiac and pulmonary disease and other potential co-morbidities
• Develops and adjusts individual exercise prescription in accordance with GXT, daily patient response in rehab, and physician recommendations on a regular basis (with assistance of Nurses and Respiratory Therapists)
• Supervises exercise session, monitoring participants for inappropriate responses to exercise
• Responsible for EKG, oximetry, heart rate, and blood pressure measurement
• Assesses participants pre, during, and post exercise, making appropriate referrals, and/or recommendations to the participant, other staff, and Medical Director

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness, or related field Required
• Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness with concentration in cardiac health Preferred
