Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking a qualified exercise professional to teach exercise classes and conduct fitness assessments within the continuum of care. The role includes developing personalized exercise programs for patients with cardiac and pulmonary rehab needs and educating families on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a preferred Master's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness or related field is required.
• Master's degree in Exercise Science/Physiology with concentration in cardiac health is preferred.
• BCLS and ACLS certifications are required or within a stated timeline.

Responsibilities

• Teach exercise classes for patients across care continuum.
• Administer fitness testing and evaluate patient progress.
• Develop and implement exercise programs for cardiac and pulmonary rehab.
• Provide education to patients and families on benefits of exercise and healthy living.
• Supervise exercise programs and deliver emergency medical care per established protocols.

Responsibilities:

Teaching exercise classes, administering fitness testing and developing and implementing exercise programs within the continuum of care. Providing education to patients and families regarding the benefits of an exercise/healthy lifestyle. Able to perform supervision of exercise programs and deliver emergency medical care utilizing established protocols for adolescent, adult and geriatric cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness, or related field Required
• Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness with concentration in cardiac health Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS Certification Required
• ACLS within 90 Days Required
