Job summary

Inova Health is seeking a part-time Exercise Physiologist to join their Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation team. Responsibilities include developing exercise prescriptions, providing patient education, and ensuring safety during sessions. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree and the ability to contribute to both Cardiac and Pulmonary patient care.

Qualifications

• Completed internship in cardiac rehab preferred.
• Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification required within 6 months.
• Experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop exercise prescriptions and modify risk factors for patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Provide education and support for patients in both Cardio and Pulmonary settings.

Exercise Physiologist Job Responsibilities

• Develops exercise prescription and risk factor modification by incorporating comorbidities and musculoskeletal disorders, per established program (ACCVPR, ACSM, ATS, ACC, NASM) standards and guidelines, as evidenced by random chart review.
• Reviews and develops Individual Treatment Plans.
• Develops exercise and strength training programs, patient education, and behavioral health support specific to each patient to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrates proper instruction and technique for performing appropriate exercise and strength training as needed to ensure patient safety and adherence to exercise prescription, as evidenced by direct observation.
• Immediately reports significant changes in patient clinical status to appropriate members of the healthcare team and assists with emergency care according to department policy, as evidenced by direct observation.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Exercise Physiologist Additional Requirements

Certification - Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Within 6 Months

Licensure - Not required

Experience - Not Required

Preferred Experience: completed internship in cardiac rehab or year of experience as an EP 1.

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
