Job description

Inova Fairfax Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation team is looking to add a PRN Exercise Physiologist to our busy team! We need cover for vacations, sick days and on an as needed basis. Must be able to come in and hit the ground running assisting our team and patients as needed. Will be working in both Cardio and Pulmonary settings.

Exercise Physiologist Job Responsibilities:

• Develops exercise prescription and risk factor modification by incorporating comorbidities and musculoskeletal disorders, per established program (ACCVPR, ACSM, ATS, ACC, NASM) standards and guidelines, as evidenced by random chart review.
• Reviews and develops Individual Treatment Plans.
• Develops exercise and strength training programs, patient education, and behavioral health support specific to each patient to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrates proper instruction and technique for performing appropriate exercise and strength training as needed to ensure patient safety and adherence to exercise prescription, as evidenced by direct observation.
• Immediately reports significant changes in patient clinical status to appropriate members of the healthcare team and assists with emergency care according to department policy, as evidenced by direct observation.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Exercise PhysiologistAdditional Requirements:

Certification - Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Within 6 Months

Licensure - Not required

Experience - Not required but a year preferred

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
