Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to lead cardiac and pulmonary rehab exercise programs at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center. You will work with physicians and staff to design, implement, evaluate, monitor and teach exercise plans for patients, and assist with discharge planning.

The role emphasizes privacy, patient education, teamwork, and excellence in care. Requirements include a BS in Exercise Science or related field, 3 years of rehab experience preferred, and BLS/ACLS

Qualifications

• 3 years cardiac/pulmonary rehab experience is preferred.
• BS in Exercise Science or related field is required.
• MS in Exercise Science or related field is preferred.
• American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS & ACLS required.
• ACSM Exercise Specialist/Health Fitness Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage exercise programs for cardiac and pulmonary patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to implement, evaluate, monitor and teach exercise design.
• Participate in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation team and discharge planning.
• Assess patient learning needs and adapt education for age-specific requirements.
• Ensure patient PHI privacy and maintain patient safety standards.
• Promote teamwork and customer-service initiatives; complete mandatory education.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Exercise Physiologist willbe responsible fortheexerciseprograms for all cardiac and pulmonary patients. This will beaccomplishedthrough the input of physicians and staff. This exercise design includes implementation, evaluation,monitoringand teaching. This will beaccomplishedby being part of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation team. Perform exit interviews andassistsin discharge planning of patients.

• You willdemonstrateknowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span andpossessesthe ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirementsrelativeto his/her age-specific needs.
• Your role ensures the privacy of our patients and confidentiality of their Protected Health Information (PHI).
• You will assess patients/familiesability to learn and incorporate teaching throughout attendance in program and in preparation for discharge.
• Your roledemonstratescritical thinking skills.
• You will promote customer service initiatives.

• You will complete mandatory education.
• You willcomply withhospital policies/procedures and patient safety initiatives.

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is a 159-bed facility providing quality healthcare to Sumner and surrounding counties for more than 45 years.
