Job summary

Panthalassa in Portland, Oregon, is seeking an EVP, Communications to build a communications function from scratch as the company enters the public stage. You will develop and execute strategies for brand, media relations, investor communications, and executive communications, reporting to the CEO.

You will lead and grow a team, manage media relationships, translate complex science into accessible language, and guide policy communications across global markets.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in media relations or strategic communications, including senior leadership roles.
• Experience managing press, both reactively and proactively.
• Ability to perform most aspects of the role as an individual contributor.
• Experience building in-house teams and managing agencies.

Responsibilities

• Build a communications function from scratch for a company entering the public stage.
• Develop and execute strategies that serve Panthalassa's mission and engage diverse audiences.
• Report to the CEO and partner with brand, strategy, product, and environmental leads.
• Oversee media relations and manage agencies and in-house teams to tell compelling stories.
• Translate complex science and engineering into accessible language for global audiences.
• Build teams and maintain a credible, proactive communications culture across the company.
