This is a high-profile, high-tempo role for a mid-career leader with plenty of fuel in the tank. It is not a 40-hour position for someone winding down a career.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in emergency management, public administration, business, homeland security, public safety, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Proven leadership at senior/executive level in emergency management or related field.
• Experience commanding emergency operations and large-scale deployments.
• Willingness to travel and work outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Serve as second-in-command to the President and lead the organization in the President's absence.
• Direct activations, deployments, and planned events; act as incident commander when needed.
• Lead preparedness and planning, including emergency operations and continuity planning.
• Oversee logistics, facilities, equipment, and communications readiness.
• Build a deployable reservist cadre and manage readiness data.
• Set goals, budgets, and performance measures for four functional leaders.
• Represent the organization with government agencies and partners.
