A leading insurance company seeks an Executive Underwriter for its San Francisco office, specializing in Major Accounts and Commercial Private Equity Business. The role emphasizes portfolio management, business development, and collaboration to achieve significant growth targets. San Francisco Private/Not-for-Profit Executive Underwriter
The Executive Underwriter will report to the San Francisco PNP Branch Manager, with the title based on experience. The role involves managing a PNP portfolio of retail brokerages for the San Francisco Branch, focusing on underwriting Major Accounts (>$1B in Revenues), Commercial Private Equity Business, and Technology Unicorns. Lines of business include D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, Kidnap & Ransom, and Workplace Violence.
The Executive Underwriter is responsible for developing book growth, maintaining strong relationships, and implementing profitable pricing strategies. Underwriting includes marketing and servicing accounts according to Chubb guidelines.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing a business plan to grow the Major and Commercial Insurance book through prospecting, pipeline development, new business acquisition, and account management within the San Francisco territory. Collaboration with Major Accounts Segment Leaders, Client Executives, Marketing Managers, and other leadership is essential. The goal is to generate at least $2M in new business annually.
The role also involves accountability for the financial performance of the book, achieving growth targets for the San Francisco branch and the Pacific North region. The Underwriter will identify growth opportunities, cross-sell, conduct agency planning, monitor progress, and visit brokers and insureds regularly as needed.
