We are currently seeking a seasoned Executive Underwriter, Energy Construction & Renewables, to join our team, focusing on underwriting complex energy construction and renewable risks and contributing to the growth of our energy portfolio.
Key Responsibilities for the Executive Underwriter
- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of complex energy construction and renewable energy accounts, including utility-scale and distributed renewable projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to drive profitable growth within the energy construction and renewables segment.
- Analyze and evaluate construction, operational, and project-specific risk exposures and coverage needs to deliver tailored insurance solutions.
- Collaborate with global underwriting teams and internal stakeholders on large, complex, or specialized energy construction and renewable accounts.
- Monitor market trends and contribute to the development of underwriting strategies, appetite, and product offerings related to energy transition risks.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities required for the Executive Underwriter
- Deep technical expertise in energy construction and renewables underwriting, including solar, wind, battery storage, and related infrastructure projects.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex construction and operational risks and develop innovative underwriting solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a client-focused and solutions-oriented approach.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with brokers and clients at a senior level.
- Familiarity with global insurance programs, project-based underwriting, and multinational construction placements.
Additional Requirements for the Executive Underwriter
- Bachelor's degree required; CPCU or other relevant industry certifications preferred.
- 10+ years of commercial underwriting experience, with a focus on energy construction and/or renewable energy risks.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client, broker, and project site meetings.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Experience working within a global insurance framework is a plus.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $170,000-200,000, plus eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus. Actual compensation will be based on various factors including experience, education, and location.
