Berkadia in Chevy Chase, MD seeks a VP – Senior Underwriter, Agency Affordable Housing, to lead underwriting of complex affordable multifamily transactions under Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac programs. You will collaborate with Origination, GPO, Closing, Servicing, and Legal to structure, underwrite, and close deals per agency requirements.

You will mentor Analysts, review debt packages, assess credit risk, and ensure compliance with guides and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise underwriting and structuring Agency affordable multifamily transactions.
• Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac affordable housing programs.
• Ability to assess borrower/sponsor creditworthiness and regulatory considerations.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate to ensure adherence to Agency underwriting requirements.
• Review debt packages for compliance with Agency Affordable Housing program requirements.
• Underwrite complex affordable multifamily transactions with regulatory or LIHTC considerations.
• Assess borrower creditworthiness, market conditions, and property performance.
• Draft underwriting submissions with clear risk articulation and mitigants.
• Mentor Analysts and Underwriters on Agency Affordable Housing underwriting practices.
• Stay updated on Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines and regulatory changes.
• Support closing to ensure documentation aligns with credit terms.
