Empower, a fast-growing startup redefining the gig economy, seeks a Deputy Chief of Staff in McLean, VA. You’ll partner with the CEO and COS to translate strategic goals into actionable plans, coordinate across teams, and manage high-impact projects and communications for millions of users.

You’ll craft compelling copy, oversee stakeholder engagement, and help run the office daily. The role requires discretion, professionalism, and a strong project-management mindset in a dynamic startup

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; multiple fields considered.
• 2–5 years of post-college experience; Hill/campaign/law firm is a plus.
• Strong copywriting and storytelling abilities.
• Highly organized with a bias for action.
• Detail-focused with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and professional demeanor; confidentiality required.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage strategic initiatives targeting legislative objectives with lobbyists and officials.
• Work cross-functionally to own and execute company initiatives.
• Assist with planning and execution of advocacy campaigns.
• Craft copy for hundreds of thousands of users.
• Assist in hiring by managing candidate pipelines and communications.
• Support the CEO and COS with meeting prep, office management, and scheduling.
