Job summary

Omni Hotels is seeking a Stewarding Department lead to ensure the efficient operation of all banquet and F&B stewarding activities at the resort. You will oversee sanitation, equipment, and supply management to meet business needs.

You will collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director to maintain high standards, control costs, and ensure smooth daily operations across all stewarding venues.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
• Must communicate respectfully and work in a team.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English.
• Must be available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the efficient operation of the Steward Department to minimize costs.
• Ensure compliance with company and hotel policies for stewarding, meeting performance standards within budget.
• Advise the Food and Beverage Director on stewarding matters.
• Maintain high sanitation standards across stewarding areas.
• Assist in preparing and controlling the stewarding department budget and overheads.
• Coordinate purchasing of cleaning supplies, china, glassware, cutlery and equipment.
• Manage storage, stock, and inventory control; report variances and action the remedial steps.
• Set performance standards for the stewarding department in collaboration with the F&B Director.
• Maintain equipment and report maintenance defects.
• Lead stewarding operations in Ski F&B outlets and associated properties.

Overview:

To ensure that all Banquets and all other Food and Beverage outlets have the required quantities of sanitized equipment/supplies to meet the business needs of the resort.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for the efficient and effective running of the Steward Department ensuring that operating costs are minimized.
• To execute company and hotel policies and procedures relating to the Stewarding Department, thereby ensuring that the services provided achieve the established standards of performance, within the agreed budgetary controls.
• To advise the Food and Beverage Director on all matters relating to the Stewarding Department.
• To be responsible for a high standard of sanitation throughout the Stewarding areas.
• To assist the Food and Beverage Director in the preparation of the Stewarding Department budget. When agreed, should control all overheads throughout the oncoming year to report to the Food and Beverage Director all variances from actual and budget with reasons and recommendations for remedial action.
• To work with Food and Beverage Director on the purchasing of all cleaning supplies, china, glassware, cutlery and equipment.
• Responsible for storage, requisitioning of all materials and equipment
• Taking and calculating of material stock (inventory) as required.
• Reporting to the Food and Beverage Director all breakages, cleaning supply consumption, etc.
• In conjunction with the Food and Beverage Director, establish standards of performance for the Stewarding Department.
• Maintaining all equipment to a high standard, i.e.: dishwashers, burnishers, etc., and reporting to maintenance any defects.
• Responsible for the Stewarding operation in all Ski F&B Outlets
• Responsible for the Stewarding operation at Fabyan’s
• Responsible for the Stewarding operation at The Lodge
• Responsible for the Stewarding operation of the Bretton Arms Inn.
