Job Description

The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing culinary staff and developing and executing culinary solutions to meet production, presentation, and service standards. Applies culinary techniques to food preparation and manages the final presentation and service of food.

Job Responsibilities
  • Train and lead kitchen personnel
  • Supervise and coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes and standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation techniques and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and uphold safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques

Qualifications
  • At least 2-3 years in a related position
  • At least 2-3 years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the food profession
  • Experiential knowledge of managing people and solving problems
  • Strong verbal, reading, and written communication skills
