Join to apply for the Executive Sous Chef role at Blooming Hill Farm

As the Executive Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef, owners, and management to develop and execute the food program for the farm's restaurant and private events. Your goal is to deliver high-quality products and experiences that reflect the vision of the executive chef, helping to maintain and grow this aspect of our business.

You will oversee food preservation, manage inventory, participate in ordering, and assist in kitchen workflow and staff training. Your role is hands-on, leading the kitchen team, delegating tasks, and ensuring standards are met.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Knife skills and produce preparation
  • Preservation, pickling, canning
  • Meat, fish, dairy prep
  • Cooking recipes including baking, sauces, dressings
  • Line cooking using various equipment including outdoor and open flame
  • Preparing prep lists, managing stock and inventory
  • Cleaning, expediting, executing catering menus, and ordering supplies
  • Other duties as assigned by the executive chef or owners

Qualifications and expectations:

  • Full-time salaried position, minimum 5 days/week, 40 hours, with extended hours during peak season (May-November)
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or catering environment; prior sous or head chef experience required
