SpaceX Job Opportunity: Executive Sous Chef

Position: Executive Sous Chef

The Executive Sous Chef plays a vital role in the company's success, overseeing teams across multiple outlets, with a focus on delivering high-end food experiences to guests and VIPs. This role involves working closely with the executive chef to manage various outlets, ensure consistency, and engage employees creatively. The ideal candidate will possess versatile culinary skills, boundless imagination, and a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and enforce operational standards across multiple kitchen outlets and service formats.
  • Support the executive chef and/or sous chefs in operations, team development, and departmental management.
  • Ensure food safety and workplace safety standards are maintained.
  • Train staff on work planning, safety protocols, and health inspection guidelines.
  • Manage hiring, disciplinary actions, and overall team well-being.
  • Coordinate the successful opening of new outlets, especially VIP experiences.
  • Oversee ongoing operations of outlets post-launch.
  • Meet cost per head targets set by the executive chef.
  • Support hiring, development, retention, and team management for all food service staff.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Culinary degree and 4+ years of industry experience, or 6+ years of experience without a degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in multi-outlet operations.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Food Managers Certification.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Experience in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with high-volume or batch cooking.
  • Leadership experience with 20+ team members.
  • Advanced knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with kitchen or dining area renovation/construction.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must obtain or have ServSafe or equivalent certification.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks.
  • Availability for all shifts, overtime, and weekends.
  • Participation in leadership and development training.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
