Job description

The Executive Sous Chef is the lead culinary professional responsible for supervising all culinary operations at a location.

Job Responsibilities
  • Train and lead kitchen personnel
  • Supervise and coordinate all culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes; standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation techniques and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance, and uphold safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
  • Oversee catering events and may provide culinary instruction or demonstrations

Qualifications
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a related position
  • At least 2-3 years of post-high school education, preferably with a culinary degree
  • Advanced knowledge of food principles and practices
  • Experience in managing people and solving problems
  • Strong verbal, reading, and written communication skills
