What We Want

The Executive Associate Athletics Director for External Relations and Revenue Generation at Texas A&M leads the strategy and operations for all external functions within the Athletics Department,
including communications, marketing, creative services, video production, and broadcasting.

This role drives fan engagement, brand visibility, and revenue growth through strategic partnerships, ticketing, licensing, NIL initiatives, and promotional campaigns. Serving as a key department spokesperson and liaison to university leadership and corporate partners, the position oversees multi-media rights, branding agreements, and student-athlete compensation opportunities, while managing a dynamic external team and contributing to the department’s long-term strategic and financial goals.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Administrative Oversight:

  • Lead, manage and coordinate all Athletics external operations staff

  • Lead creative content strategy

  • Serve as a department spokesperson for all external initiatives and assist with outside media requests

Department Oversight:

  • Communications

  • Marketing

  • 12th Man Creative and Football Creative and Video

  • 12th Man Productions

Point of contact or Liaison Duties:

  • Liaison to Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer

  • Liaison to Chief Business Development Officer for all Campus-Athletics Joint Licensing and Branding agreements (Fanatics, CLC, Pepsi/Gatorade, etc.)

  • Main POC for Multi-media rights (Learfield/PlayFly)/Radio Broadcasting

  • Name Image and Likeness (NIL) Collaboration

  • Liaison to Adidas Marketing

  • Main POC for SEC Network

  • Main POC with University Chief Marketing Officer

  • Plan, develop, administer and evaluate areas of responsibility, and conduct regular evaluations of personnel.

  • Represent Texas A&M Athletics on internal and external committees and campus and community events.

  • Conduct all duties in accordance with applicable laws, policies and procedures, including Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Athletics, NCAA, and the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Communications, Marketing, Branding, and Video Broadcasts:

  • Oversee the department’s communications strategy to maximize visibility for Texas A&M Athletics and its sports programs, including digital and social media, video, email and direct mail, press releases, etc.

  • Oversee all marketing and promotional initiatives and campaigns to inform and attract target audiences and provide the best game day/fan experience.

  • Oversee in-venue presentations for all games and special events.

  • Steward the Texas A&M Athletics brand by maintaining brand standards for all design, video, social, physical and other brand applications.

  • Serve as the department’s final approval of all licensing and usage of intellectual property.

  • Oversee digital and linear broadcasts and all video-related content

Revenue Generation:

  • Lead the athletic department’s revenue generation efforts through all channels, including fundraising, partnerships, ticket sales, licensing, merchandising, etc.

  • Work on strategic department initiatives involving revenue generation

    • NIL

    • Loyalty and Rewards Programs

    • MMR Partnerships

    • Adidas Co-Marketing activities

  • Partner with the Director of Athletics and 12th Man Foundation to:

    • establish annual and long-term goals in support of the department’s strategic initiatives and fundraising priorities.

    • coordinate contacts and solicitation strategies.

    • coordinate and implement comprehensive fundraising programs and activities that support the goals of the department.

  • Oversee the department’s relationship with its third-party multimedia rights partner to cultivate, solicit and steward corporate partners; ensure successful partnership sales, activations and fulfillment.

  • Help determine and monitor key performance metrics and benchmarks to assess performance and measure success.

  • Oversee the department’s ticket sales strategies for season, group and single game sales.

  • Lead/Oversee marketing and promotional plans for all ticketed sports

Student-Athlete Compensation:

  • Work collaboratively with the Assistant AD for NIL and Texas A&M’s multimedia rights partner as liaisons to third-party entities and corporate and community partners that support Texas A&M student-athletes.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategies to help Texas A&M student-athletes maximize their compensation opportunities.

Dedicated Weekly/Monthly Duties:

  • Attend executive staff meetings

  • Lead weekly external department head meetings and report weekly external notes to leadership and external staff.

  • Sit in on weekly department meetings and attend ticket/development/MMR meetings

  • Lead weekly creative content meeting with all content creators (graphic, photo, video, radio, publications)

  • Bi-Weekly meeting with football creative staff

  • Bi-Weekly 1 on 1 meetings with department heads

  • Monthly 1 on 1 meeting with Athletic Director

  • Bi-Annual Meetings with Campus Communications and Marketing Teams

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Eight years of experience in NCAA Division I Athletic Administration, professional/corporate setting or a combination of both.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four years of senior level experience with a power 5 school and representation at conference level meetings.

  • Student-athlete/coaching experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of NCAA Rules.

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

  • Oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Dynamic leader and collaborator with exceptional communication skills and a strong work ethic, committed to enhancing the visibility, reputation, and revenue of the Texas A&M Athletics Department.
