Job summary

The Jackson National Life Insurance Company in Lansing, Michigan, seeks an Emergency Response Specialist to help develop and implement physical security programs and guard force operations, ensuring a safe environment for associates, customers, vendors and visitors.

You will manage access control, respond to life-safety incidents, support executive travel, and coordinate with internal teams on events, maintaining confidentiality and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 10+ years recent experience in a similar law enforcement role.
• LEOSA eligibility or certification and Concealed Pistol License required.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to travel for planned and unplanned events.
• Must pass Jackson-sponsored training and pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Develop emergency response plans, incident management procedures, and guard force operations.
• Control facility access and respond to emergencies to ensure safety.
• Conduct patrols for hazards, violations, and security protocol compliance.
• Monitor entrances/exits to prevent unauthorized entry and manage movement.
• Respond to incidents with escalation of force per established protocols.
• Observe and report activities, maintaining property and personnel safety.
• Enforce security policies and procedures for personnel and property.
• Report suspicious activity and recommend resolutions.
• Respond to workplace violence, threats, fires, medical and other emergencies.
• Provide protection during business travel, meetings and public appearances.
• Coordinate with internal teams on events for security and executive participation.
• Provide logistical support to company leaders as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete written logs/reports.
• Travel as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
