JOB DESCRIPTION

This role can sit in or around the Seattle, WA Metro area. We are currently seeking candidates for an Executive Risk Engineer, Property & Casualty with experience in the insurance, loss control, and/or safety industry. This person will support our Seattle, WA underwriting operations.

The Risk Engineer operates within the Chubb Risk Consulting Department and is an integral part of the value-added services provided to our commercial insurance policyholders. The position reports to the Risk Consulting Branch Manager and supports our Seattle territory, with periodic travel outside the state. Occasional travel throughout the region is required as business needs warrant, with approximately 2-3 nights per month of overnight travel. This is a "work from home" position outside of local and regional client engagement travel.

The primary focus is to understand clients’ operations for the underwriting team, counsel clients on best practices (employee safety, fleet, facility maintenance, business continuation, product safety, etc.), identify hazards, and provide recommendations for risk improvement. Responsibilities include discussing and offering Chubb’s Risk Consulting Services, assisting with loss prevention, safety training, safety committee support, and evaluating fire protection systems.

On-site visits with existing and prospective clients will be conducted, with comprehensive reports evaluating hazards and controls to support risk selection, pricing, and underwriting. Daily activities include scheduling visits, processing correspondence, report writing, follow-up, and coordinating with claims and underwriting teams to ensure excellent service, risk management, and client retention.
