Job summary

Savannah College of Art and Design is seeking an executive researcher to serve as the point person for essential information about SCAD’s academic schools, events, programs, and initiatives within the executive administration team.

You will gather statistics, prepare materials for guests, interview experts, and help craft the annual SCAD President’s Report. The role includes researching higher education trends to strengthen SCAD’s position as a leading creative university.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field.
  • Ability to travel as needed to various locations.

Responsibilities

  • Interview subject matter experts and document those interviews for use by the executive content team.
  • Collaborate with other members of the executive content team to create the annual SCAD President’s Report (i.e., gather key information, narratives, and data on ongoing initiatives and outcomes).
  • Conduct research on the state of higher education, notable figures, current events related to SCAD, and any other information to strengthen SCAD’s position as the preeminent university for creative careers.

Job description

As an executive researcher, you’ll serve as the point person for essential information on the SCAD academic schools, events, programs, special projects, and other initiatives within the executive administration team. The university is home to eleven schools of study: Animation and Motion, Building Arts, the De Sole School of Business Innovation, Creative Technology, Design, Fashion, Film and Acting, Fine Arts, Foundation Studies, Liberal Arts, and Visual Communications.

In support of your team, you’ll:

  • Find and confirm key statistics relevant to reports, remarks, lectures, op-eds, and more
  • Create preparatory materials for select guests and visitors to the university
  • Interview subject matter experts and document those interviews for use by the executive content team
  • Collaborate with other members of the executive content team to create the annual SCAD President’s Report (i.e., gather key information, narratives, and data on ongoing initiatives and outcomes)
  • Conduct research on the state of higher education, notable figures, current events related to SCAD, and any other information to strengthen SCAD’s position as the preeminent university for creative careers

Additionally, you’ll:

  • Stay well-informed about the evolving tone and concerns of the SCAD president
  • Attend SCAD events and engage with the university community to find success stories
  • Submit, revise, and finalize drafts according to established timelines
  • Provide informed suggestions for content angles that highlight SCAD success
  • Attend events and film shoots to rehearse with and support the SCAD president
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field
  • Ability to travel as needed to various locations
Work hours:

The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
