  • Lead end-to-end executive and professional search engagements, from initial search strategy and market mapping through candidate assessment, offer negotiation, and successful placement.
  • Partner directly with executives and senior business leaders to understand organizational priorities, leadership needs, reporting structures, succession considerations, and long-term talent requirements.
  • Develop detailed search strategies for senior-level and highly specialized positions across Human Resources, business operations, government affairs, public policy, communications, and related corporate functions.
  • Conduct targeted market research and talent mapping to identify executives, emerging leaders, and passive candidates with relevant functional, industry, and leadership experience.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders by providing market intelligence, candidate calibration, compensation insights, competitive analysis, and recommendations throughout the search process.
  • Build and maintain high-value executive talent networks through direct outreach, referrals, industry relationships, professional associations, and confidential sourcing efforts.
  • Conduct in-depth candidate assessments focused on leadership capabilities, executive presence, strategic judgment, communication style, organizational impact, and cultural alignment.
  • Present concise and well-developed candidate summaries, search updates, market findings, and hiring recommendations to executive stakeholders.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential searches with a high level of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Represent the organization professionally with senior-level candidates, ensuring a thoughtful and highly personalized candidate experience.
  • Lead offer strategy and negotiation in partnership with Human Resources, compensation teams, and executive leadership.
  • Maintain accurate search documentation, candidate records, interview feedback, compensation details, and search activity within the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Monitor search progress, pipeline quality, candidate engagement, and time-to-fill while providing clear executive-level reporting.
  • Support broader executive talent initiatives, including succession planning, leadership pipeline development, organizational design, and strategic workforce planning.
Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Lead executive intake and search strategy meetings to define leadership requirements, critical competencies, preferred experience, organizational context, and candidate evaluation criteria.
  • Build target company lists, talent maps, competitive intelligence, and market research to guide sourcing and outreach strategies.
  • Identify and directly engage passive executives and senior professionals through personalized and highly targeted outreach.
  • Conduct comprehensive candidate interviews that evaluate career progression, leadership scope, strategic impact, management style, business judgment, and motivation.
  • Develop detailed candidate profiles and present qualified executives to hiring leaders with clear recommendations and supporting assessment.
  • Prepare senior-level candidates for interviews by providing appropriate context regarding the organization, leadership team, opportunity, and selection process.
  • Facilitate candidate debriefs and advise executive stakeholders on candidate strengths, risks, leadership readiness, and overall alignment.
  • Manage multiple confidential and highly visible searches while maintaining urgency, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with executives, candidates, internal stakeholders, and external partners throughout the search process.
  • Track search activity and prepare executive-ready pipeline reports, candidate summaries, market updates, and hiring recommendations.
  • Advise leadership on candidate availability, compensation expectations, competitive dynamics, and potential search challenges.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with placed executives, prospective candidates, and industry contacts to strengthen future leadership pipelines.
Preferred Experience and Attributes
  • 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting, executive search, retained search, or senior-level talent acquisition experience.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting executives, senior leaders, and highly specialized professionals across Human Resources, business operations, government affairs, public policy, communications, or related corporate functions.
  • Experience leading complex searches from search strategy and market mapping through assessment, selection, negotiation, and placement.
  • Proven ability to advise and influence executives, senior hiring managers, and leadership teams throughout the search process.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Advanced candidate assessment capabilities with the ability to evaluate leadership impact, strategic thinking, executive maturity, communication style, and organizational fit.
  • Strong market research and talent-mapping experience, including the ability to identify relevant companies, leadership profiles, and passive candidate populations.
  • Experience presenting candidate profiles, market intelligence, compensation information, and hiring recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Strong direct sourcing and networking capabilities with a track record of engaging difficult-to-reach executive talent.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experience managing senior-level compensation discussions, offer strategy, and candidate expectations.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and confidential searches with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand organizational structures, leadership challenges, and evolving talent needs.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to lead multiple executive searches simultaneously.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, judgment, credibility, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, executive search platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, and market research tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
