Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler in Savannah, GA seeks a Chief Quality Officer to lead system-wide quality, patient safety, and experience initiatives.

This physician executive will report to the Chief Operating Officer and align Lean Six Sigma with strategic quality improvements across inpatient and outpatient settings. The CQO partners with clinicians, operations, and governance to drive data-driven improvements, regulatory readiness, and cost-of-care reductions while enhancing patient and family-centered

Qualifications

• Board-certified physician, MD, or DO - Required
• At least 5 years of leadership experience with responsibility for oversight of core quality functions such as patient safety, clinical performance, quality and performance measurement and reporting systems, accreditation and regulatory readiness - Required
• At least 5 years of executive leadership experience, preferably in a complex health system, in an executive quality position - Required
• Extensive knowledge of healthcare issues and trends in complex healthcare delivery settings - Required
• Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma improvement methodology - Required
• Strong operational and financial acumen with ability to develop and lead a vision for excellence including cost-of-care reductions - Required
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive quality, patient safety, and patient experience program for the health system.
• Lead strategy to integrate Lean and Six Sigma into core process improvements and cost reduction efforts.
• Establish systems to optimize clinical outcomes, patient experience, and safety performance.
• Collaborate with leaders and staff to design future-state objectives and drive regulatory compliance with accrediting bodies.
