Sinclair Broadcast Group in California is seeking an Executive Producer to oversee news content for fairness, balance, and accuracy. You will produce daily newscasts, supervise a team of producers and reporters, and guide coverage decisions across broadcast and digital platforms.

The role requires strong writing, the ability to work under pressure, and a track record of compelling storytelling across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience producing in a television news environment or equivalent.
• A college degree in Journalism or a related field is preferred.
• Strong writing skills and a proven track record for getting results on initiatives.
• Ability to perform well under pressure, experience managing breaking news and meeting strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily newscasts to ensure local communities are informed and empowered.
• Supervise producers and reporters, review scripts, and provide feedback to enhance storytelling.
• Manage the newsroom and handle breaking news to grow audiences.
• Coordinate with the Digital team to maintain continuity between broadcast and digital/social platforms.

Job description

KRCR has an immediate opening for an Executive Producer to oversee news content for overall fairness, balance, and accuracy. The ideal candidate will produce daily newscasts and oversee the production of newscasts and special programming. You will work closely with producers and reporters on daily selection and coverage. As a newsroom leader, the expectation is that the Executive Producer will lead by example.

Some additional responsibilities of our Executive Producer will include

• Oversee daily newscasts to ensure we are serving our local communities by sharing relevant information to alert, protect, and empower our audiences
• Supervise producers and reporters, as well as review scripts and provide feedback to encourage powerful storytelling
• Manage the newsroom and handle breaking news situations to empower and grow our audiences
• Work with the Digital team to maintain continuity between broadcast and our digital and social platforms
• Collaborate with News Directors and other station managers to create special segments
• Planning and overseeing continuity into upcoming newscasts

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $19.30 to $20.30 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
