Job summary

Sinclair Broadcast Group's WOAI/KABB is seeking an Executive Producer to oversee morning news content, ensuring fairness, balance and accuracy across broadcasts and digital platforms.

The role involves leading daily newscasts, supervising reporters and producers, reviewing scripts, and guiding coverage decisions. You will coordinate with the News Director and station managers and may produce a daily newscast as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience producing in a television news environment.
• College degree in Journalism or related field preferred.
• Strong writing skills and a proven track record for getting results on initiatives.
• Ability to coach and motivate staff.
• Experience managing breaking news and meeting deadlines.

Job description

WOAI/KABB has an immediate opening for an Executive Producer to oversee morning news content for overall fairness, balance and accuracy. The ideal candidate will oversee production of newscasts, daily reporting, online content, and special programming. You will work closely with producers and reporters on daily story selection and coverage. As a newsroom leader, the expectation is that the Executive Producer will lead by example.

Some additional responsibilities of our Executive Producer will include

• Oversee daily newscasts to ensure we are compelling, competitive, and serving our local communities by sharing relevant information to alert, protect, inform and empower our audiences
• Supervise producers and reporters, as well as, review scripts and provide feedback to encourage powerful storytelling
