Job summary

Phoenix VA Health Care System seeks an experienced Nurse V Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services to lead clinical programs and nursing operations across Acute Care and specialty services. You will drive strategic planning, policy development, and professional practice while ensuring Veteran-centered care.

The role requires a Master’s in Nursing (MSN) with 5+ years of executive nursing leadership, and preference for Pathway to Excellence and Magnet experiences.

Qualifications

  • Education: MSN and 5 years of professional nursing experience; leadership in executive nursing roles.
  • Doctorate preferred; related field with BSN and 4 years experience acceptable.
  • Active/state nursing license and eligibility to work within the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for Primary Care, Specialty Care, Perioperative, Prosthetics, and Geriatrics/Extended Care.
  • Support additional service areas to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Lead Pathway to Excellence initiatives and promote evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Direct staffing plans, clinical standards, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
  • Promote shared decision-making and a high-reliability organization culture.
