Job summary

AbbVie invites applications for an Executive Medical Director in Oncology Clinical Development (Solid Tumors). This full-time role leads the direction and execution of clinical trials, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring high-quality data and regulatory compliance.

The candidate should have an MD/DO (or international equivalent), 5–7 years of trial experience, and strong leadership with excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• MD or DO or non-US equivalent with relevant specialty.
• Residency completion strongly preferred; subspecialty fellowship desirable.
• At least 5 years (7 years preferred) of clinical trial experience in pharma, academia, or equivalent.
• Ability to run a complex clinical research program independently.
• Proven leadership and ability to lead cross-functional global teams.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of protocols and regulatory submissions.
• Oversee clinical study teams, monitor study integrity, and review safety/efficacy data.
• Chair Clinical Strategy Team(s) and develop a rigorous Clinical Development Plan.
• Serve as in-house clinical expert, coordinating with stakeholders across functions.
• Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practices and regulatory standards.
• Represent AbbVie at external meetings as required.
