TEGNA is seeking an accomplished President & General Manager to lead WXIA/WATL-TV in Atlanta, responsible for overall performance and strategic direction across content, sales, and operations. This role drives revenue growth, audience expansion, and strong community impact across platforms.

The incumbent will build high-performing teams, foster collaboration, and execute innovative growth initiatives while aligning with market needs and corporate strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or business; 7–10 years leadership in media.
• Proven track record leading high-performing teams and delivering strong business outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to translate priorities into action and hold teams accountable.

Responsibilities

• Leads overall strategy and performance for both stations across content, sales, brand and operations.
• Develops and executes short- and long-term strategies to grow revenue, audience, market share and profitability.
• Provides strategic leadership for content operations, ensuring high-quality journalism and cross-platform growth.
• Leads multiplatform strategy to expand audience reach, engagement, and distribution across markets.
• Partners with sales leadership to drive revenue growth and advertiser solutions.
• Manages annual budgets and forecasts with accountability for financial performance.
• Builds and develops leadership teams across both stations with clear accountability.
