Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks an executive leader to serve as Assistant Secretary for Fish Passage Barrier Correction Delivery. This statewide program intersects transportation, environment, tribal relations, and fiscal stewardship, delivering court-mandated requirements while advancing statewide objectives.

The Assistant Secretary provides vision, governance, and enterprise oversight, guiding scope, schedule, budget, and risk across regions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams at executive level.

• Proven track record delivering complex, public-sector programs on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive stewardship and governance for the Fish Passage Barrier Correction Delivery Program.
• Establish program-wide delivery frameworks, performance expectations, and accountability.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, risk, and multi-biennial planning across regions.
• Collaborate with other assistants to align delivery with capital programs and asset management.
• Coordinate with legal offices on compliance and contract remedies; engage tribes and officials.
