The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS) seeks an influential Commissioner of the Bureau for Family Assistance to provide strategic direction and oversee key programs such as SNAP, WV WORKS, child care resources, and energy assistance. This role leads deputy commissioners and executive staff to advance economic stability for vulnerable families across the state.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in public administration, social work, business administration, or closely related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive executive-level management within a complex human services delivery system.

Responsabilités

• Testify before legislative committees and report on program outcomes.
• Analyze proposed legislation affecting economic assistance and advocate policy revisions.
• Lead intergovernmental collaboration with legislators, staff, and chairs.
• Deliver keynote addresses and updates to community providers and stakeholders.
• Direct deputy commissioners and executive staff managing SNAP, TANF, child care, LIEAP, and related aid.
• Oversee budget and funding to ensure fiscal responsibility and impact.
