Job summary

Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA offers a Medical Education Fellowship in Emergency Medicine. The role is part-time, with approximately 8 shifts per month as an ED attending across a large, diverse patient population.

You will teach learners, supervise residents and students, and collaborate with the education leadership team to run undergraduate and graduate medical education programs, including didactics and simulations.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or foreign equivalent required.
• Completed Emergency Medicine residency and board eligibility/certification.
• Ability to obtain Pennsylvania medical license.

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise learners including EM residents, medical students, and APPs.
• Work with educational leadership to run undergraduate and graduate medical education programs.
• Provide didactic teaching and small-group facilitation.
• Utilize a 10,000 sq ft simulation lab for training.
• Support internal and external educational training opportunities.

Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center proudly offers a Medical Education Fellowship located in Hershey, PA. This remarkable Fellowship will significantly impact future career opportunities in Emergency Medicine.

• Work part time ~8 shifts/mo. as an attending in the emergency department of our tertiary-care hospital for 15 counties and highly diverse patient population.
• Teach and supervise learners including EM residents, off-service rotating residents, medical students, APPs and APP Fellows.
• Work with our educational leadership team to learn how to run programs in undergraduate and graduate medical education.
• Teaching opportunities in large-group didactics, small group facilitations and our 10,000 square foot simulation lab.
• Internal and external training opportunities to expand your educational skills.
• Ability to earn a Master's in Education (in 2 years) or a Certificate in Education (in 1 year) through PSU World Campus.

Requirements:

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
• Completion of accredited Emergency Medicine Residency
• BC/BE Emergency Medicine
• Ability to obtain Pennsylvania medical license
