Job summary

Bank of Montreal is seeking a senior risk leader to head the Risk Framework function within the US Risk Governance & Strategic Risk team. The role ensures RMF integration across the enterprise, Material Entities, and U.S. operations, aligning with regulatory expectations and strategic priorities.

The candidate will mentor a cross-functional team, influence senior leaders and regulators, and drive continuous improvement in risk governance and control frameworks to safeguard the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise risk management or related functions within a large regulated organization.
• Deep knowledge of risk management frameworks, three lines of defense, and risk appetite.
• Strong ability to translate strategy into RMF design and governance requirements.
• Proven ability to influence senior executives and regulators across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Risk Framework function within RG&S Risk Governance & Strategic Risk.
• Define and drive RMF design, application, and enterprise alignment.
• Provide advisory interpretation of RMF concepts and governance practices.
• Ensure consistent RMF application across three lines of defense, enterprise, and Material Entities.
• Mentor and lead a diverse team, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
