Job summary

ABM Industries seeks an IT Portfolio Manager to lead a pillar portfolio of enterprise technology initiatives and act as the Pillar VP’s portfolio chief-of-staff and trusted advisor. The role emphasizes shaping intake, prioritization, and delivering decision-ready insights to executives.

The position reports to the VP/CIO-Staff and requires strong executive communication, crossfunctional collaboration, and disciplined governance to ensure timely decisions and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in IT portfolio/PMO leadership in complex enterprise environments.
• Executive-ready communicators who drive decisions with concise options and recommendations.
• Proven ability to influence without authority across business, infrastructure, security, and delivery teams.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder management; builds trust-based relationships.
• Experience with portfolio tooling, reporting, and decision logs.

Responsibilities

• Own the pillar portfolio across PMO + non-PMO work from intake through outcomes; maintain exec-ready view.
• Produce concise briefs and pre-reads for the VP/CIO-Staff with clear recommendations and options.
• Act as Pillar VP’s day-to-day portfolio advisor; run decision agendas and ensure owners, due dates, and closure.
• Translate portfolio, financial, and capacity detail into plain-English executive insight and recommendations.
• Maintain portfolio-level budget tracking, forecasting, and alignment of spend to priorities.
