Who we are and what we do:

The Department of Finance and Administration seeks experienced candidates for the position of Executive Information Technology Director supporting the Department of Corrections. This is an Executive Service role located in downtown Nashville. The Executive IT Director will provide vision and leadership for all technology initiatives within the Tennessee Department of Corrections. The role operates at a strategic level, collaborating with various leadership to identify technology needs and develop a strategic IT plan. The director will lead the IT team to deliver solutions that meet the agency's business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the STS IT workforce supporting the Tennessee Department of Corrections by setting project focus and aligning efforts with the agency's priorities, including Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
• Support a sustainable organization by planning and implementing professional development and succession plans to develop and retain talent. Collaborate with relevant directors to maintain IT development initiatives.
• Supervise STS IT staff, assign work, and manage personnel actions such as hiring, disciplinary measures, and performance reviews.
• Maintain and develop TDOC IT Systems by working with agency leadership and subject matter experts to identify and implement solutions that meet business needs.
• Coordinate with the PMO and PDCoE to ensure synchronization of project planning, testing, and implementation activities.
• Develop and utilize tools to track data-driven results, including KPIs and customer satisfaction metrics.
• Establish strategies, objectives, and SLAs for IT services to improve organizational efficiency and performance.
• Use state tools to measure individual and team performance, including setting responsibilities and SMART goals, to provide cost-effective services supporting TDOC's goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems, with at least six years of professional IT experience, including four years in managerial roles.
