Job summary

Washington Marriott Capitol Hill is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to oversee housekeeping operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and adherence to brand standards. This role focuses on leadership, quality assurance, and guest satisfaction in a busy hotel environment.

Responsibilities include staff selection and training, scheduling, inventory control, policy implementation, and ensuring HHM EarthView sustainability practices are followed. On-site shifts may include holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Two years of housekeeping supervisor experience required.
• Experience ensuring guest safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates to meet brand standards and HHM values.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness, appearance and safety.
• Answer inquiries about hotel policies and services; resolve guest complaints.
• Observe staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to policies.
• Prepare schedules based on occupancy; assign duties and notify vendors of staffing needs.
• Take inventory and submit inventory orders to ensure timely purchases.
• Prepare required paperwork for departmental functions.
• Communicate guest service scores to drive improvement.
• Develop and implement department or hotel policies and procedures.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and EarthView program.
• Practice safety; follow MSDS/OSHA; wear safety equipment; participate in safety committees.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Essential Job Functions

• Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolve guests’ complaints and concerns.
• Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Prepare schedules based upon occupancy and assign duties to workers and schedule shifts or notify vendor of weekly staffing needs.
• Take inventory and submit periodic inventory orders to insure supplies are purchased in a timely manner.
• Prepare required paperwork pertaining to departmental functions.
• Be aware of and communicate guest service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation of the department or the hotel.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits; follow MSDS and OSHA standards; wear protective safety equipment and participate in safety committees as directed.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Position Requirements

Work Environment and Context

• Work schedule varies and may includeworking on holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
