Job description

SCOPE OF WORK

The Executive Housekeeper will be responsible for overseeing the Housekeeping department. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness in the guestrooms, making sure the room is clean and welcoming, a home away from home for our guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Inspect all rooms assigned to Room Attendants on a daily basis to ensure that standards and productivity levels are being met and maintained.
  2. Notify Room Attendant(s) of any deficiencies found in the room and note on the attendant’s board. Ensure the Room Attendant returns to the room to correct the deficiency, when applicable. Re-inspect the corrected rooms.
  3. In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor, inspect all V.I.P. rooms and report their availability to the Front Office, according to hotel standards.
  4. Ensure records of daily assignments are completed, signed off, and turned into the Housekeeping Office daily.
  5. Communicate with Guest Services regarding information about discrepant rooms. Physically check the room to determine status.
  6. Maintain contact with the Front Office and/or Engineering. Report on the progress of all out-of-order rooms under the Housekeeping Department’s supervision to the Guest Services Manager according to hotel standards.
  7. Monitor all V.I.P.’s special guests and requests.
  8. Attend meetings/training as required by management.
  9. Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions and/or concerns.
  10. Turn in all “Lost and Found” items immediately as directed, listing the area of the hotel or room number where found, the day the item was found, and the name of the person who found it.
  11. Promptly report all maintenance concerns to a housekeeping manager or supervisor.
  12. Follow all individual brand standards, policies, & procedures.
  13. Be a Brand Ambassador of A&R’s Culture, Mission, and Values.
  14. Ensure all guests are treated in an efficient and courteous manner and that all Company standards are applied.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Previous housekeeping experience.
  2. High level of organizational and time management skills.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer/client focus essential.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  6. Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include early morning, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
  7. A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service.
  8. Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  9. Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
  10. Professional and ethical.
  11. Excellent customer service skills.
  12. Quick learner and hard worker.
  13. Must be a team player and be able to work independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.
  2. Must be able to stand for periods of time.
  3. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  4. Ability to make repeated and continued movements of the shoulders, elbows, and hands (below waist and overhead movements).
  5. Must be able to lift, push, and pull a moderate weight frequently.
