## Job DescriptionAs the Executive Housekeeper, you will oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring that all guest rooms and public spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. You will lead and develop a team of supervisors, inspectors, housekeepers, porters, and dispatchers, fostering a productive and efficient work environment. Your responsibilities will extend to budget management, inventory control, and the coordination of maintenance and repair needs with the engineering department. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive guest experience by ensuring timely responses to special requests and maintaining open communication with hotel management and other departments.## Responsibilities* Lead, direct, train, and manage the entire housekeeping department staff, including hiring, firing, and performance management.* Develop and manage the departmental budget, including expense and capital expenditure recommendations and controls.* Prepare and manage work schedules for the housekeeping department to ensure adequate staffing levels.* Conduct regular inspections of hotel towers, guest rooms, hallways, the lobby, and back-of-house areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards.* Identify and schedule necessary repairs and upgrades in collaboration with the engineering department.* Oversee the coordination and administration of all housekeeping programs and projects.* Ensure a friendly and courteous guest and employee contact experience within the department.* Manage all hotel inventory controls related to housekeeping supplies and linens.* Maintain constant communication with the engineering department regarding maintenance and renovation issues.* Delegate duties effectively and ensure quality control of the night cleaning staff.* Communicate regularly with hotel management to ensure minimal check-in wait times and address any guest-related concerns.* Ensure all special guests' needs are addressed promptly and efficiently.* Act as a primary point of contact for interdepartmental communications, vendors, and professional training agencies.* Provide lateral service and collaborate effectively with other department managers and supervisors.* Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and proper chemical usage and bloodborne pathogen procedures.## Qualifications* Associate's degree in hospitality management or a related field.* A minimum of 5 years of progressive hotel experience at a full-service or luxury hotel.* Proven ability to lead, direct, and train a large housekeeping team.* Strong knowledge of cleaning supplies, techniques, and standards.* Experience in preparing and managing departmental budgets.* Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.* Working knowledge of hotel computer systems and Microsoft Office products.* Knowledge of OSHA requirements related to the hotel industry.* Expert knowledge of proper chemical usage and bloodborne pathogens.* Demonstrated ability in decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking.* Strong customer service management skills and a commitment to service excellence.* Ability to manage inventory and supplies effectively.* Knowledge of standard operating procedures within a hotel environment.* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.* Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
