Job summary

Makeready is seeking an Executive Housekeeper for The Greenleigh River Oaks, opening Fall 2026 in Houston. You will lead the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and uphold uncompromising standards across all spaces.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and thorough knowledge of hotel operations. You will manage daily housekeeping activities, budgets, and inventory while collaborating with other departments to anticipate guest needs and events.

Qualifications

  • Prior housekeeping leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, professional and approachable.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Housekeeping team; foster pride and accountability.
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and ongoing development of staff.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor daily housekeeping operations.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professional conduct.
  • Provide clear direction and set expectations for the team.
  • Communicate openly to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Review staffing to meet guest comfort and productivity goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and lead team meetings.
  • Utilize PMS to generate daily room assignments and workflow.
  • Coordinate with other departments for special requests and occupancy patterns.
  • Monitor inventories to control costs and ensure supplies.
  • Maintain robust room, corridor, and public space inspections.
  • Oversee departmental budgets and inventory controls.

Requested Tasks
  • Lead, motivate, and develop Housekeeping team members, cultivating a culture of pride and accountability
  • Ensure proper onboarding, training, and ongoing development of all team members
  • Plan, organize, and monitor daily operations of the Housekeeping department
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and professional conduct
  • Provide clear direction and consistent expectations to set the team up for success
  • Maintain open communication that fosters fairness, consistency, and accountability
  • Review staffing levels to support guest comfort, operational demands, and productivity goals
  • Conduct performance evaluations and lead team meetings as needed
  • Utilize the PMS to generate daily room assignments and manage workflow efficiently
  • Partner with other department leaders to anticipate special requests, events, group blocks, and occupancy patterns
  • Complete regular inventories to ensure appropriate supply levels and cost control
  • Maintain a robust inspection program for guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces
  • Oversee departmental budgets and inventory controls
Requested Capabilities
  • Prior Housekeeping experience strongly preferred
  • Prior team leadership experience highly preferred
  • Thorough understanding of hotel operations and industry standards
  • Excellent communication skills — professional, personable, and approachable
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
