Job summary

Live Strong House is seeking a Classroom/Student EF Coach to work five days a week in a private school residential setting, focusing on executive functioning skills in the classroom in partnership with teachers. Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education, vocational training, or related field.

• Ability to pass a Federal Background Check.
• Valid driver's license.

Job description

Classroom/student coach working five days a week in a private school residential treatment center, focusing on executive functioning skills in the classroom in partnership with the classroom teachers. Coach treatment team members on how to better implement executive functioning skills as part of daily living.

Work to educate, mentor and strengthen high school graduates and design an educational and vocational plan that meets the student's unique post-secondary needs using college and career readiness principles. Will also perform various duties as assigned by the Academic Director.

Responsibilities

As an EF Coach/CCRP Counselor, you will be expected to do, but not limited to, the following duties:

Executive Functioning Coach

• Use formal and informal testing to review data to drive instruction.
• Teach lessons in EF skills that will help students and staff become more self-sufficient in the classroom and be adapted to daily living, when needed.
• Help students with learning and processing problems; plan goals and act on them using EF skills.
• Create structured lessons individualized to the needs of your student(s).
• Partner with treatment team members to advise on executive functioning deficits seen outside the classroom. Check in with students as needed.

College and Career Readiness Coach

• Guide students through CCRP modules to meet competency measures
• Create structured lessons individualized to the needs of your student(s)
• Refer students to outside resources for mentoring and hands-on experience.
• Help arrange and plan vocational tours for CCRP students
• Assist in job applications and college enrollment.

Live Strong House General

• Write detailed incident reports when necessary, and as soon as possible.
• Write weekly progress updates for parents.
• Attend weekly staff and department training meetings.
• As an employee, you are a representative of Live Strong House. As such, any behavior (whether on or off LSH premises), which contradicts company values and portrays LSH negatively, will be grounds for immediate termination.
• Complete annual training in Behavioral Management, Crisis Intervention, First Aid and CPR, and any other training as deemed necessary by management.
• Provide a loving and caring environment for students to live and thrive in.

Qualifications

Qualifications that are necessary for this position:

• Education Minimum: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in education/vocational training or related field from an accredited institution
• Experience working with youth in an educational or treatment setting
• Due to the varying nature of students' abilities, the instructor should feel confident teaching multiple topics at different levels of learning
• Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills
• Able to hold clear boundaries with student and others
• Ability to pass a Federal Background Criminal Investigation and Screening
• Possession of a valid driver's license
