Job summary

Vernon Hills High School invites applications for an Executive Function Tutor. The role supports students identified through MTSS, providing one-on-one or small-group tutoring to strengthen executive functioning skills.

Reports to the Assistant Principal for Student Services. Calendar comprises 178 student attendance days, 7:45am–3:45pm; paraprofessional status within ESP bargaining unit. Position is full-time.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional License required.
• Experience in educational setting beneficial.
• Background in personal organization and planning.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-impact tutoring for identified students in executive functioning.
• Review executive functioning strategies through tutoring sessions.
• Collaborate with the MTSS team in tutoring development and implementation.
• Additional duties may be assigned as the position evolves.

Executive Function Tutor – VHHS

Overview: A Resource Executive Functioning Tutor will work one on one or in small groups with students identified by the MTSS process.

Reports to: Assistant Principal for Student Services

Employee status: Educational Support Personnel - Direct Paraprofessional

ESP Bargaining Union

Calendar: 178 Student Attendance Days, 7:45am - 3:45pm

Qualifications: Paraprofessional License

Experiences in educational/school setting is beneficial

Background in personal organization and planning

Professional/Personal Characteristics:

• Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
• Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under varying deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
• Proficient with Google G‑Suite, office and phone equipment
• Ability to work as part of an educational team to support the needs of individual or groups of students

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide high-impact tutoring for identified students in executive functioning.
• Review executive functioning strategies and practices through individual and/or group tutoring.
• Collaborate with the MTSS team in the development and implementation of tutoring.
• New duties may be designed as the position evolves and/or further needs are identified.
