Forvis Mazars, LLP is seeking an experienced Managing Director of ESOP Consulting & Administration to lead complex ESOP engagements and guide client strategies from Birmingham, AL. You will partner with trustees, boards, and executives to design and implement ESOP solutions that align with client goals.

The role requires extensive ESOP expertise, leadership, and a track record of developing high-performing teams while driving growth across ESOP services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 11+ years of ESOP consulting, administration, or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of ESOP regulations, ERISA, and tax laws.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, formulas, macros.
• Proven success leading client engagements.
• Mentoring and coaching experience.
• Strong business development and relationship management.
• Excellent written and executive communication skills.
• CPA, CEPA, CFA, ASA or other designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead ESOP feasibility studies, ownership transition strategies, and transaction planning engagements
• Serve as the primary advisor for key ESOP clients, delivering strategic guidance and an exceptional client experience
• Oversee ESOP transaction execution and coordinate activities among clients, trustees, lenders, legal counsel, valuation professionals, and internal teams
• Direct ESOP administration services, including recordkeeping, participant allocations, compliance testing, and regulatory reporting
• Lead repurchase obligation studies and long-term forecasting analyses
• Provide ESOP regulatory, ERISA, and tax guidance
• Identify client challenges and develop practical, risk-balanced solutions
• Build, develop, and mentor high-performing teams across the org
• Collaborate across service lines to deliver integrated ESOP solutions
• Support practice growth through business development, networking, and thought leadership
• Identify opportunities to expand services within client relationships
• Contribute to strategic initiatives enhancing operations and delivery
