Job summary

The Senior Director of Executive Engagement at WAMU (American University) partners with the General Manager to craft executive messaging, manage stakeholder engagement, and provide governance support across AU leadership and external partners.

This role leads strategic communications, oversees the GM’s communications strategy, and guides staff in creating high-impact presentations, briefs, and engagement plans for boards, donors, and community leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 8–10 years in executive communications or strategic operations.
• Strong writing, presentation, and relationship management.
• Ability to lead projects and influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute executive engagement and messaging strategies.
• Lead communications for the GM and Board relations.
• Manage the GM’s Senior Executive Assistant and office operations.
• Represent AU and WAMU in external forums and events.
