Job summary

AAJA25 is seeking an Executive Editor to lead KERA News and oversee the Denton Record-Chronicle's editorial teams, driving coverage across digital, radio, print and television. The role emphasizes strong leadership, local news expertise, and digital operations, with collaboration across partners to engage North Texas audiences.

The ideal candidate will supervise newsroom leadership, manage partnerships, and ensure coverage aligns with organizational goals and high editorial standards.

Responsibilities

• Set overall editorial strategy and direction for KERA’s newsroom and the Denton Record-Chronicle, plus daily talk shows.
• Manage relationships with local, statewide and national editorial partners.
• Oversee budgeting and supervise newsroom leadership and staff development.
• Foster inclusive leadership and amplify diverse voices in coverage.
• Lead initiatives in audience data utilization to guide coverage and products.
