Executive Driver and Security Professional
Northern Virginia/Washington, DC

This position requires the ability to reliably report to and work in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area. Candidates outside the area must be willing to relocate prior to their start date. Close protection/executive protection experience is required.

JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Driver and Security Professional serves as the primary driver and provides security support for a senior executive and, as needed, other members of the leadership team. Prior experience supporting executives, high-profile individuals, dignitaries, or other principals in a security or protective capacity is highly valued.

The successful candidate should understand the unique requirements of executive protection, including situational awareness, discretion, advance planning, risk recognition, and maintaining a secure environment while providing professional, unobtrusive service.

This role also provides day-to-day operational support, including coordinating security-related needs, managing deliveries, and assisting with general logistics to ensure safe, seamless executive operations.

The position requires a high degree of discretion, sound judgment, situational awareness, and schedule flexibility. The individual must be available to work overtime, occasionally up to 50 hours per week, as well as periodic evenings and weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide executive driving and security support for a senior executive, including daily commuting, local and out-of-area travel, and coverage for evening and weekend events.
  • Maintain a high level of situational awareness and identify potential safety or security concerns while transporting and supporting the executive.
  • Apply executive protection and security best practices while maintaining a professional, discreet, and low-profile presence.
  • Assist with advance planning for executive movements, meetings, events, and unfamiliar locations when appropriate.
  • Coordinate and monitor security systems at a designated private residence, including working with security vendors and other relevant partners.
  • Provide driving support for other executives as requested.
  • Maintain the vehicle used for executive transportation, including keeping the interior and exterior clean and professional and scheduling routine maintenance, repairs, and service appointments.
  • Serve as a liaison with external security teams and other security contacts for events at the organization's offices and other locations, as needed.
  • Coordinate with building security and external security partners to ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Support executive and operational needs, including deliveries, logistics, and escorting visiting executives and other guests, as requested.
  • Handle other responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must currently reside in Northern Virginia or Washington, DC, or be willing to relocate to one of these areas.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland, with a clean driving record.
  • Prior professional security experience, including executive protection or close protection experience, is required. Protective operations, dignitary protection, law enforcement protective services, military protective services, or comparable high-level security experience is also highly valued.
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives, high-profile individuals, government officials, dignitaries, or other principals is highly desirable.
  • Defensive driving training and current or prior CPR and first-aid training.
  • Strong situational awareness and sound judgment to recognize, assess, and appropriately respond to potential security or safety concerns.
  • Understanding of executive protection protocols, including secure transportation, route planning, advance preparation, confidentiality, and coordination with other security professionals.
  • Knowledge of basic automotive maintenance and vehicle care.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule, including overtime and occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion and professionalism in a high-trust executive environment.
  • Proven record of following verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Successful completion of post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to drive for multiple hours at a time.
  • Remain in a stationary position while working on a computer, as needed.
  • Move through an office environment to access meeting rooms, office equipment, and workspaces.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and copiers.
  • Transport items and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds on occasion.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Up to 25 percent.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Salary range of $90,000 to $100,000, plus overtime and a discretionary annual bonus.
