Qualifications

• Prior special operations or elite military background strongly preferred.
• Formal Executive Protection certification from a recognized program.

• Current certification (or ability to obtain) in First Aid/CPR/TCCC.
• Ability to obtain Virginia licensure/certification for armed protective work.
• Valid, clean driver’s license; defensive/evasive driving training a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, on-site protective coverage for the principal and immediate family members, residentially and while traveling.
• Conduct advance work: route planning, site surveys, and threat/risk assessments for travel.
• Maintain constant situational awareness across various settings.
• Coordinate secure transportation, lodging, and movement logistics.
• Liaise with household staff, family office personnel, and local law enforcement.
• Identify and de-escalate threats; respond decisively if needed.
• Maintain discretion regarding the principal's schedule and personal affairs.
• Sustain readiness for rotating shifts and extended time away from home base.

About the Role

Aecon Global Security is seeking a highly trained Executive Protection Specialist to join a dedicated personal security detail for a high-visibility principal and their family, based in McLean, VA. This is a full-time, close-protection assignment requiring the judgment, discipline, and operational maturity typically developed through elite military service eg, Navy SEAL or other special operations background) combined with formal executive protection training.

This is not a general security guard post — this is a career-track protective role for someone who has already proven themselves under pressure and is ready to apply that experience to protecting a family.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, on-site protective coverage for the principal and immediate family members, both residentially and while traveling
• Conduct advance work: route planning, site surveys, and threat/risk assessments for domestic and international travel
• Maintain constant situational awareness across residential, corporate, social, and public settings
• Coordinate secure transportation, lodging, and movement logistics
• Liaise as needed with household staff, family office personnel, and local law enforcement
• Identify and de-escalate potential threats before they materialize; respond decisively if they do
• Maintain absolute discretion regarding the principal's schedule, habits, and personal affairs
• Sustain readiness for rotating shifts, last-minute travel, and extended time away from home base

Qualifications

• Prior special operations or equivalent elite military background strongly preferred - Navy SEAL, other SOF, or comparable
• Formal Executive Protection certification from a recognized program (e.g., Executive Protection Institute, ESI, Global Guardian, ISDA, or equivalent)
• Prior experience in dignitary, executive, or celebrity protection
• Firearms proficient, with ability to maintain ongoing qualification
• Current certification (or ability to obtain) in First Aid/CPR/Tactical Combat Casualty Care
• Ability to obtain any required Commonwealth of Virginia licensure/certification for armed protective work
• Valid, clean driver's license; defensive/evasive driving training a plus
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively and on short notice, domestically and internationally
• Ability to pass an extensive background investigation
• Discretion, professionalism, and composure when embedded closely with a family's day-to-day life

Preferred

• Experience protecting high-net-worth families or public figures in a residential/estate setting
• Foreign language proficiency
• Experience coordinating with household staff or family offices
