Job summary

City of Omaha, in partnership with the Omaha Streetcar Authority, seeks an Executive Director to lead strategic initiatives for Omaha’s modern streetcar system. You will direct daily operations, oversee capital projects, manage finances, and ensure regulatory compliance while forging strong regional partnerships.

The role reports to the OSA Board and drives development along the streetcar corridor, including sponsorships, federal/state grants, and public relations.

Qualifications

• Seven years of progressively responsible administrative and management experience in public or non-profit sector with executive leadership.
• Strong knowledge of FTA regulations, public transit operations, safety/risk management, contracts, and federal grants.
• Ability to build consensus across governmental bodies and communicate plans to officials, media, and the public.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversee daily operations of the OSA and its management contractor.
• Lead capital construction, track systems, and facility development while ensuring on-time performance and maintenance.
• Manage budget allocations, evaluate funds, oversee bond data and audits, pursue sponsorship revenue.
• Ensure compliance with TAM, PTASP, ADA, Title VI, NTD reporting, and State Safety Oversight obligations.
• Foster economic development and partnerships along the streetcar corridor; liaise between City of Omaha and Metro Transit.
• Secure grants and act as chief media representative to promote transit-oriented development.
