Job summary

City of Scottsdale is seeking an experienced Fleet Director to provide strategic leadership for our municipal fleet, including police, fire, transit, and support vehicles. The role focuses on safe, reliable, and cost-effective fleet operations, with accountability for acquisition, maintenance, and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Business or Public Administration or a related field.
• Six years' experience in fleet management, which includes five years of managerial experience.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or job-related experience which meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
• Must reside in Arizona during active employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision and leadership for all aspects of municipal fleet operations, including fleet acquisition, maintenance, replacement planning, fuel management, regulatory compliance, and asset lifecycle management.
• Collaborate across City departments to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions that maximize fleet performance and operational efficiency.
• Lead a team of professionals, manage multimillion-dollar budgets, and leverage data and emerging technologies to drive informed decisions.
